I really don’t know how to say, in a professional way, that my intrusive thoughts won on this one. This forum was a thought that lived in the back of my mind for a few years. I like organizing things and color-coding (ask my boss, it gets a little excessive sometimes).

I was able to attend the VACA conference for the first time in 2025. That is where this idea really got me. Watching how everyone had experiences and information to share, but trying to pack it into 3 days. Trying to network and talk over things with such limited time just isn’t possible. It didn’t help that I am not very comfortable talking to new people. So I asked a few people I knew if they thought this was an idea that had any potential. They all encouraged me to give it a try. I will admit I am not a coder and heavily relied on templates and platforms that people way smarter than I am created.

All of that to say, I hope this forum proves useful for my fellow ACOs. This forum is exclusive (well, the intent is to be exclusive) to active ACOs in the animal welfare field. I built this site with the intent to give all of us in the profession a place to come and safely, reliably, and respectfully build a community.
